post card from snowdonia.
we have just returned from a week in snowdonia, north wales.
my first impression of the beamed cottage we rented for a week was that it was dusty and in need of refurbishment.
postcard from snowdonia would be a great title for a book. Is that really the name of the town? It sounds a little cold and I don't like to be really cold nor do i like alot of snow.
I like to read about people in cold places I just don't want to be them brisk is ok bitter is not.
the article in the independent about the use of the term "mentally diseased" by the watchtower society is really gaining momentum.

It is difficult to take on this organization because they have had at least a hundred yrs of practice in twisting and manipulating people and information. The amount of literature produced has developed a very tricky writing style and they are in the business of a strange persuation. They also have pretty deep pockets and are prepared to fight.
When you realize you've been deceived you get angry and you want to lash out they know that and count on it to paint you in a bad light. Sometimes you think you have healed and a witness surprises you out in a parking lot of a grocery store and your blood boils and you feel crazy.
i personally think the best move is to however painful immediately cut off all support by not attending another meeting if everyone who disagreed did that and took the hit it would register big time on all the congregations. i know this isn't something most want to do but I think it would be effective. The wtbs uses that trick on people at the door they tell them to leave their friends and family and join the witnesses even if you love your family and they get upset saying that's the only way you'll save them. They know that game and they play it on both ends.
i was a hair away from telling my wife i never wanted to go to the kingdom hall again after today's watchtower.
the conductor mentioned something along the lines of..."if you think having to shun your disfellowshipped children is bad...you should read up on the israelites.
when one of their children was disobedient to the law, they had to take the before the judges so that they could be stoned to death...and guess who's job it was throw the first stone?".
After reading blonde's post i thought wow the wtbs is not mincing words their making it perfectly clear no ambiguity about what they expect family members to do about those who have left. No one can use the "they never said that" They want to be sure they ruin people's lives destroying family bonds.
It makes you want to cry especially that squirmy statement about those DEAR parents
I hope people bolt out the door and run away from them as fast as they can.

However beautiful it may appear to some this planet is carnivorous, everthing is trying to feed off something else and in violent ways. It's a death planet so the question is who's idea was it?
Sometimes on nature shows you see mama big cat and her little cubs and they look soo cute till they get hungry and mama heads off to steal baby wildebeest from it's mama and you don't want to see that but should the cute cubs die from hunger it's an unpleasant situation that plays out everyday.
Do you want it to continue if you stop death what happens to the planet and we're part of the show who's responsible?
have anyone here went from being a very strict believer in god to a non-believer?.
actually i think many are.. but outside of the usual answers of "god doesn't exist" (which you must have had some very valid reasons for), were there many things that caused you to come to this conclusion?
i was watching a southpark video about joseph smith and the mormons and i thought it very funny that anyone could actually believe any of that stuff.
Now that I'm older and have more perspective I realize that my own desires have clouded my ability to find truth. First of all we are all affected by our culture and we can't assume our family, country etc. enven if it treated us well has the correct answers. They may have loved us but we don't have to agree with them or fear them. We sometimes mislead ourselves because we want love, peace and happiness for all and we assume there's a god that wants the same thing. We have to be prepared for whatever the truth is because it may not be good from our perspective. It's possible something terrible is going on here. Trying to override our programming is difficult.
My latest strategy is looking at real evidence for example in archeology and trying to be objective by looking at all the opinions and using logic and reasoning. I'm on a journey till I run out of time because I want to know what is really going on here even if it's not what I expected or wanted. It's not a comforting or really happy place but it's a true place and it's where I want to be.

and i enjoy a martini i invented---mandarin vodka with a slight bit, usually about a capful of chambord served in an ice cold martini glass.. this saturday i'm mixing with my gf's friends and family in conn. with some affluent people and i might want to try something different.
I like blue moon beer but I don't drink too much because I get flushed and my face gets red even from just one glass. They call it the asian flush because asians apparently oftem have the condition but I'm not asian but I guess we all probably have surprises in our genetic history.
